Introducing the Fringe Red Light Therapy Clinical Pad
Red and near infrared light therapy is increasingly studied for its effects on cellular energy production, tissue repair, and inflammation regulation.
Learn how the Fringe Red Light Therapy Clinical Pad was designed to support consistent light delivery while addressing practical considerations like cleanability, durability, and use in both professional and home environments.
Why Red Light Therapy?
We don’t get enough sun. Plain and simple – we spend 93% of our time indoors, decreasing our body’s natural ability to function. Red Light Therapy conveniently reintroduces the healing power of the sun, improving how our cells produce energy.
When our cells have the energy they need to function, they can alleviate many of our modern-day health challenges, making us feel better.
Clinically Supported
At Fringe, we are immensely proud of our whole crew, but one of the most crucial teams we have is our Scientific and Product Development Team. Composed of amazing clinicians and scientists who have dedicated decades to understanding the science of healing and natural health. About us.

Red light therapy for your pets? Yep!
Red light therapy uses red and near-infrared light to help keep animals healthy, active and thriving. It’s easy to use at home and very safe! Lots of studies and clinical trials have shown the benefits of red light therapy for animals.
Veterinarians have been using laser red light therapy for decades for animal rehab to help with pain, swelling, wounds, skin irritations, arthritis and inflammation.
Yesterday's Medicine
Our ancestors didn’t have to think too much about the amount of light they got every day, they received the perfect blend of light provided by the sun during the day and around the fire at night.
The concept that “sunlight was medicine” and considered necessary for human health eventually became general knowledge; today referred to as Heliotherapy, or sunlight therapy.
Despite its recent popularity, red light therapy has close to a 100 year history of scientific research and medical uses. However, the sun has been popular with humans for healing for a little bit longer – approximately 300,000 years.
Today's Science
Just like plants depend on sunlight to flourish, the human body is dependent on light for its health and wellbeing. Like the nutrients our cells get from food, light can be thought of as a nutrient that is necessary for our cells to function optimally.
Over the last several decades scientists and healthcare providers have published thousands of studies on the power of light therapy and its positive effects on cellular function.
Red and Near Infrared Light therapy stimulates your body’s natural healing process through increased cellular energy (ATP) production. Those energized cells in turn strengthen our body’s own healing capabilities through decreasing inflammation, increasing blood flow to our tissues and increasing collagen production for improved tissue regeneration and repair.
The benefit? Sweet, sweet healing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Fringe Red Light Therapy Clinical Pad?
What is the Fringe Red Light Therapy Clinical Pad?
The Fringe Red Light Therapy Clinical Pad is a medical-grade silicone red light therapy device that delivers both red (660 nm) and near-infrared (850 nm) light via a high-density LED array. It provides the same therapeutic wavelengths and light intensity as Fringe's standard wraps, while offering a surface that can be easily cleaned and disinfected between uses. It was designed specifically for clinical, athletic, veterinary, and other professional environments where hygiene and durability are priorities.
How does the Clinical Pad differ from the standard Fringe Wrap?
How does the Clinical Pad differ from the standard Fringe Wrap?
Both devices deliver the same wavelengths (660 nm red and 850 nm near-infrared) and the same light intensity. The difference is in the material and the intended environment. The standard Fringe Wrap uses soft neoprene, making it comfortable to wear and easy to position around the body for home use. The Clinical Pad uses medical-grade silicone, which does not absorb sweat, oils, lotions, or hair and can be wiped down with a disinfectant between uses. The Clinical Pad is the better choice in settings where the device will be used on multiple people or animals throughout the day.
What wavelengths does the Clinical Pad deliver?
What wavelengths does the Clinical Pad deliver?
The Clinical Pad delivers red light at 660 nm and near-infrared light at 850 nm. These wavelengths fall within the range most studied for biological effects on tissue. Red light at 660 nm works primarily in superficial tissues, including skin and the underlying dermis. Near-infrared at 850 nm penetrates more deeply into muscle, joint, and connective tissue. Together, they support a broader range of applications than either wavelength alone.
What is the light intensity of the Clinical Pad?
What is the light intensity of the Clinical Pad?
At full power (100%), the Clinical Pad delivers approximately 20 to 40 mW/cm² at the skin surface. This is consistent with the therapeutic range used in red light therapy research and is similar to the intensity of the beneficial wavelengths in natural sunlight. A 50% power setting is also available for users with more sensitive skin or for areas that feel more sensitive to warmth.
